Evacuation Warnings Issued as Fire Threatens Homes in Lakeside

A fast-moving brush fire ignited Thursday afternoon near Hawick Drive in Lakeside, triggering evacuation warnings for nearby zones and prompting a response from CAL FIRE San Diego.

The fire, first reported around 3:30 PM, remains under investigation. As of 5:10 PM, no structures have been confirmed damaged, but residents in evacuation zones SDC-1687 and SDC-1776 have been advised to leave if they need extra time or have animals.

A Temporary Evacuation Point has been set up at the Walmart in El Cajon on Camino Canada.

No containment figures have been released, and an Incident Management Team has not yet been assigned.
