Just before 1:00 AM on Saturday, a solo rollover crash sent emergency crews rushing to the intersection of Ingraham Street and West Mission Bay Drive, just west of Sea World.
The car was headed northbound when it reached the split between the main roadway and the offramp. Instead of veering in either direction, the vehicle drove straight through the gore point and struck a tree. The impact caused the car to flip onto its roof.
The driver, a male, was trapped inside and appeared to drift in and out of consciousness. Firefighters from San Diego Fire-Rescue worked to stabilize the vehicle before carefully removing him. He was placed in an ambulance and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. No visible injuries were reported at the scene, but his condition has not been confirmed.
At this time, it’s unclear whether speed, impairment, or another factor played a role in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
