Police in La Mesa responded early Sunday morning to a possible burglary in progress at Chuze Fitness at the Grossmont Center. The call came in from mall security, who discovered both front glass doors of the gym had been shattered.
Treating the situation as a potential break-in with suspects possibly still inside, La Mesa PD requested assistance from El Cajon PD’s K9 unit. Officers issued loudspeaker callouts before entering the business with the canine leading the way.
No suspects were found inside during the search. Management later arrived to assess the damage and determine if any property was stolen. The incident remains under investigation.
