[SAN DIEGO (College Area), Sun Jan 25, 12:51 a.m.] —
A man was stabbed early Sunday outside a 7-Eleven on El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego’s College Area, suffering potentially life-threatening injuries, according to police and emergency responders.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded just before 1 a.m. to the store near El Cajon Boulevard and Amherst Street, where they treated a man with stab wounds to his chest and legs before transporting him to a hospital.
Police said the suspect or suspects fled west from the scene. Officers later located two possible suspects about one block away and detained them for questioning. A bloody knife was also found in the same area near the detained individuals.
Authorities said investigators are working to determine whether the knife is connected to the assault and what led up to the stabbing. No motive has been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
