Apartment Fire Prompts Early-Morning Response on Euclid Avenue

[SAN DIEGO (City Heights) Sat Jan. 24, 3:03 a.m.] — Firefighters responded early Friday to a structure fire in a two-story apartment building in the City Heights area after flames were reported in a downstairs unit.

Initial reports raised concern that a woman and her baby might be trapped inside the burning apartment. Fire crews quickly conducted searches and confirmed that all residents had been safely removed from the building.

Two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. No serious injuries were reported.

Multiple San Diego Fire-Rescue units responded, including engines, ladder trucks, battalion chiefs, and a fire investigation officer. Utility crews from SDG&E were also notified.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist with temporary housing for several displaced residents.
