UPDATE: Two Killed in Overnight Shooting in Grant Hill

Two people were shot and killed early Monday morning on a sidewalk in San Diego’s Grant Hill neighborhood, police said.

San Diego Police released additional details Monday morning in the investigation of the double homicide in Grant Hill.

According to police, officers responding to the scene found two adults — a man and a woman — both victims of homicidal violence. Police described the victims as a Hispanic male and a Hispanic female, each believed to be in their late 20s to early 30s.

Investigators also discovered three young children, all under the age of two, inside a vehicle parked near where the victims were found. Police said the children appeared unharmed and were taken into protective custody.

Homicide detectives remained in the area through the night and into the morning hours, processing the scene and canvassing for witnesses. No suspect information has been released.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of 27th Street and Imperial Avenue shortly after midnight. San Diego Fire-Rescue crews and paramedics responded, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

San Diego Police homicide detectives were called in and took over the investigation. The department’s watch commander confirmed only that two people had died, with no additional details released about the victims or the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
