Chula Vista Police Search for Suspect After Overnight Shooting

A man was critically injured early Sunday morning after being shot multiple times including to the head in a parking lot outside a bar on E Street in Chula Vista, according to emergency responders and witnesses on scene.

Chula Vista Fire Department crews were dispatched shortly after 1:40 a.m. to the 600 block of E Street, where they found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics provided emergency treatment before transporting the victim by ambulance to a hospital. The injuries were described as severe, but there has been no official confirmation of the victim’s condition or whether the man survived.

Chula Vista police broadcast the incident as an assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm. Officers reported locating multiple shell casings at the scene, indicating several shots were fired.

Police said the suspect fled shortly after the shooting in a gray four-door pickup truck, last seen traveling westbound on E Street. A detailed suspect and vehicle description was circulated to surrounding agencies on a countywide mutual-aid channel.

The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been announced.
