Suspects Detained After La Mesa ADW Spills Into Logan Heights

[LA MESA Sat Dec 6, 10:15 p.m.]

A late-night assault investigation stretched across two cities Saturday after a handgun was reportedly pointed at a victim on a quiet La Mesa street.

La Mesa police were called to the 5200 block of Bob Street just after 10 p.m. Officers spoke with several people gathered in a front yard who described a confrontation in which a suspect raised a handgun and aimed it directly at someone. No shots were fired and no one was hurt, but the suspects left the area in a Honda Accord before officers arrived.

A regional BOLO went out, and roughly an hour later San Diego police located a vehicle matching the description on Martin Avenue in Logan Heights. Officers conducted a high-risk hot-stop in a driveway and detained several individuals. Police also entered a nearby home to ensure no additional people were inside.

A La Mesa police unit arrived to interview the detained subjects. Authorities have not yet said whether any weapons were recovered or what charges, if any, may follow.
