A late-night crash in La Presa sent three people to the hospital early Sunday after a motorcycle plowed into a group of pedestrians standing in the street near Ildica Street and Johns View Way.
According to witnesses, a female rider traveling through the area collided with several people gathered outside what appeared to be a house party. The impact was so forceful that one pedestrian was thrown into a tree, snapping it on impact.
A witness at the scene told us they believed the rider had been drinking, though CHP has not confirmed impairment as a factor.
San Miguel Fire’s Engine 16 arrived quickly and triaged multiple patients. Two pedestrians and the rider were taken to local hospitals with varying injuries. A third pedestrian was evaluated on scene, and it was unclear early Sunday whether he was ultimately transported.
Sheriff’s deputies from SDSO secured the area, while the California Highway Patrol took over the collision investigation.
