[SAN DIEGO (Grantville) Thurs Nov. 20, 5:54 p.m.] A neighbor dispute inside a Mission Gorge Road apartment ended Thursday evening with at least one gunshot, a man injured and a handgun recovered, according to preliminary information from police and fire officials.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews and a Falck ambulance were dispatched just before 6 p.m. to the Trinity Place Apartments on the 6200 block of Mission Gorge Road after reports of a possible shooting inside one of the units. Truck 45 and Medic 31 responded and briefly staged before paramedics were cleared to enter the complex.
When we arrived, roughly 10 San Diego police units were clustered around the front of the closed-door property. The activity appeared to be contained inside the building; there were no visible victims or suspects in the parking lot or on the street.
Law-enforcement information reviewed for this story indicates the call began as a disturbance between neighbors involving multiple people. At least one round was fired during the altercation, and officers later recovered a firearm at the scene. Police said everyone believed to be involved was detained at the complex, and they were not searching for additional suspects.
Paramedics treated a man for a head injury related to the struggle and took him to a local hospital, with a police unit following the ambulance. Early reports indicated the injury was from contact with the gun during the altercation rather than a direct gunshot wound, and his condition was described as non-life-threatening.
The incident remains under investigation by SDPD. Details about potential charges and identities of those involved have not yet been released.
