SAN DIEGO (Lake Murray) — A man was taken into custody late Sunday night after allegedly stabbing another person in the hands during a disturbance at the Lakewood Villa Apartments on Lake Murray Boulevard.
Police were called around 11:50 p.m. Sunday night to the 8500 block of Lake Murray Blvd. for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. The victim, suffering minor wounds to both hands, drove a short distance to meet arriving officers while medics staged nearby. Once cleared in, the victim declined treatment.
The suspect ran from the scene but was quickly found by the department’s ABLE helicopter hiding in nearby shrubbery. Officers on the ground, backed by a K-9 unit and less-lethal options, ordered him to surrender. He complied and was arrested without further incident.
Police said the call was originally described as a possible domestic-violence situation, though investigators were still working to determine whether the suspect and victim were acquainted.
