Stabbing at Mavericks Beach Club

SAN DIEGO (Pacific Beach) — A late-night fight at Mavericks Beach Club on Garnet Avenue ended with three people stabbed early Sunday, including two security guards, according to radio traffic from San Diego Fire-Rescue crews.

Just after midnight, SDPD and SDFD units responded to 860 Garnet Avenue for reports of a fight involving a knife. Paramedics treated three men at the scene — two security guards with more serious stab wounds, and a another man with a minor cuts. All three victims were transported to hospitals across the region.

Witnesses told officers that a man had been fighting with security before pulling out a knife. Police quickly detained the suspect and set up crime-scene tape along the sidewalk outside the club as police began interviewing witnesses.

The conditions of the victims were not immediately available early Sunday. SDPD’s Northern Division is investigating.
