SAN DIEGO (Mission Beach) — San Diego police are investigating after gunfire was reported early Sunday morning in the parking lot of Belmont Park, the popular oceanfront amusement area in Mission Beach.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. after multiple callers reported shots fired in the south parking lot. When patrol units arrived, they located at least four spent shell casings and taped off the area for evidence collection.
Police interviewed several people nearby, but no victims or suspects were found. ABLE, the department’s helicopter, searched the surrounding streets but did not locate anyone connected to the shooting.
As of early Sunday morning, SDPD said the investigation remains open.
