A child was injured when gunfire struck an upstairs apartment at the Parkway Club Apartments on Graves Avenue at 3:20 a.m. Saturday. San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies from the Santee Station responded with fire/EMS; the boy was transported after a gunshot wound to the leg. His condition was not immediately released.
Residents reported several shots in rapid succession. SD Slackers documented multiple bullet holes in the building in addition to the window penetration. Investigators are examining whether the shots came from a vehicle on Graves Avenue or from northbound State Route 67, which runs parallel to the property with only a chain-link fence separating the corridor. No suspect or vehicle description has been released.
