Tracking Number: Package Safe, Hydrant Not

A FedEx delivery stop turned splashy Friday afternoon when the truck clipped a hydrant on Lake Adlon Drive near Lake Murray Blvd, snapping it off and launching a column of water into the sky. Heartland Fire & Rescue’s Engine 12 dispatched the call around 4:40pm and San Diego Police arrived shortly after. Crews quickly tracked down the shutoff, cranking the valve to stop the flow.

No injuries were reported. The unplanned fountain drew a small neighborhood audience—mostly kids—who let out cheers as firefighters killed the geyser and cleared the street.
