A late-night crash in El Cajon damaged two parked cars—including a Porsche Boxster—after a pickup truck jumped the line on the 900 block of Greenfield Drive around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, 9/20.
Witnesses told officers the driver ran from the scene. With ASTREA overhead, units searched the area and spotted a man near the apartments at Greenfield and North 1st Street. Although the collision happened just inside El Cajon city limits, CHP units in the area helped with the stop; El Cajon Police retained the investigation because the crash location is within the city boundary.
Officers say the man showed signs of intoxication and was reportedly combative while being detained. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He denied being the driver or having any involvement. No injuries were reported. El Cajon PD is continuing the case, including responsibility and damage documentation.
