A woman in her 60s was killed Monday night after being struck by a vehicle in La Mesa.
The crash happened at about 9:50 p.m. in the 5600 block of Baltimore Drive, near the 7-Eleven. Police said the woman was crossing the street when she was hit. Officers arriving first found her unconscious and began CPR until firefighters and paramedics arrived. She was rushed to a hospital, but later died from her injuries.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police said drugs and alcohol are not suspected.
A broken light pole in the median was unrelated to this crash and had been down for several days.
The La Mesa Police Department is continuing its investigation.
