La Mesa, CA — August 26, 2025 — A two-car crash in La Mesa led to a dramatic vehicle rescue response Tuesday afternoon, but fortunately no one suffered serious injuries.
The collision happened around 4 p.m. on the 8400 block of University Avenue. A small white SUV and a Chevy Traverse SUV collided in the intersection, causing the white SUV to roll over and land on its roof. Early reports indicated people might be trapped inside, leading fire crews to escalate the incident to a “vehicle rescue.”
When first responders arrived, they found all occupants had managed to get out of the overturned SUV. A young child was transported to the hospital out of precaution, but authorities said there were no major injuries.
La Mesa police officers remained on scene to investigate the cause of the crash.
