At about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, a driver trying to enter I-8 west from Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa clipped a sign and rolled their car onto its side. According to initial reports, the driver crawled out through the windshield before officers arrived and took off on foot. Inside the vehicle, several open containers were visible—including a large “Buzzball.” CHP is handling the investigation. At this point, impairment has not been confirmed and no arrests have been announced.
