A man was injured early Saturday morning when he was struck by a car on Lake Murray Boulevard in La Mesa. The crash happened around 2:48 AM in the 5300 block, near the Shell gas station and close to the Connecticut Avenue intersection.
It appears a silver Kia was traveling northbound when it hit the pedestrian, who was crossing the street about 20 feet north of the intersection. The impact occurred close to, but outside of, the marked crosswalk.
The man, whose age is unknown, was semi-conscious when paramedics transported him to a local trauma hospital. His injuries are not yet confirmed, though officials said he may have suffered a head injury.
Investigators have not indicated the driver was impaired. Police are reviewing surveillance video from a nearby building as part of the investigation.
