Caught on Camera: DUI Arrest Fight

A pickup truck left the roadway while exiting southbound SR-163 at the Genesee Ave offramp early Sunday morning. The vehicle had been reported minutes earlier for reckless driving and swerving.

The female driver failed to negotiate the curve, sending the truck partway up an embankment. While the truck sustained only minor damage and the driver was uninjured, CHP officers quickly began a DUI investigation.

During the field sobriety test, the woman repeatedly tried to retrieve a bottle of water from her truck. Officers initially allowed her access, but when she attempted to quickly drink it, they intervened. As the questioning continued, the woman became increasingly agitated and at one point lunged toward the passenger door. When the interviewing officer attempted to restrain her, she resisted, prompting multiple CHP officers to intervene.

She was taken to the ground and detained in handcuffs, continuing to resist even while upright against the vehicle. She was ultimately arrested for DUI and transported to jail.
