Two men were injured in a shooting incident that began with a confrontation outside the Terre at Bradley apartment complex in unincorporated El Cajon on Tuesday evening. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, deputies from the Santee and Lakeside stations responded at 6:21 p.m. to 325 E. Bradley Avenue after multiple 911 calls reported a 245—assault with a deadly weapon—and shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found two individuals suffering from injuries described as non-life-threatening. No arrests had been made as of Tuesday evening, and deputies remained on scene interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Eyewitnesses said the conflict began when a man allegedly pushed a child, prompting the child’s father to confront him. A verbal argument escalated when one of the men reportedly retrieved a firearm. During a struggle between the two, the gun discharged—allegedly striking the man who had brought it. Witnesses say bystanders intervened, disarmed the suspect, and the man fled across the street toward a neighboring apartment complex. Video from the scene showed a white minivan in the Terre at Bradley parking area with bloody handprints on the side. A visible blood trail crossed the street to the north, where deputies located and detained a shirtless Hispanic male with injuries to his face. He was transported by ambulance from the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and no official charges have been announced.
