The incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on April 8 at a residence on the 200 block of West Cypress Avenue. Emergency crews arrived to find the victim unresponsive, with no pulse and not breathing. Paramedics immediately began CPR and continued life-saving efforts for approximately 10 minutes at the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital as a trauma patient, with CPR still in progress during transport. His current condition has not been released. The El Cajon Police Department confirmed the assault is being investigated as a case of assault with a deadly weapon. As of Tuesday morning, no suspect has been identified, and police have not released any additional information regarding a possible attacker.
